The rainfall is forecast to continue to ease. The heaviest rainfall has now cleared the area. River levels in the Towy at Carmarthen are expected to remain high through the day on 21st January. . Properties in this area are at risk as water may leak through the defences. We advise that the situation is monitored and precautions taken as necessary. The flood walls are not currently forecast to overtop, We will update this message if the situation changes. The rainfall is forecast to continue this evening, Wednesday 20th January for the next few hours. The heaviest rainfall is expected to continue. Carmarthenshire County Council have an operational response at this area and will be onsite with pumps. . River levels in the Towy at Carmarthen are expected to rise until at least 05:30 AM on Thursday the 21st January 2021. . Properties in this area are at risk as water may begin to start leaking through the defences. We advise that the situation is monitored and precautions taken as necessary. It is possible that the flood walls may overtop. We will update this message if the situation changes.
