Current forecasts and observed river levels at Carmarthen suggest that the River Tywi has now reached a peak level at this location, although there could potentially be further increases to this level over the next few hours. The observed level at Old Llangunnor Road is close to the top of the flood defence wall, but it is thought that overtopping is now unlikely. A site investigation officer from NRW is present at this location to monitor the situation. Properties in this area are at risk as water may begin to start leaking through the defences. We advise that the situation is monitored, and precautions are taken as necessary. The flood walls are not currently forecast to overtop.
