Burstwick Drain, Westlands Drain
This flood warning has been issued due to high water levels in Westlands Drain at Hedon. The water level in Westlands at Hedon is rising due to the incoming tide and the persistent rainfall that has taken place over the last 3 days. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast and river levels closely. Our operations staff are also operating pumps and defences in the area. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and see the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.

Burstwick Drain, Westlands Drain
This warning has been issued as a result of rising river levels on Burstwick and Westlands Drains.  Levels are rising as a result of persistent heavy rain over the last few days. Westlands Drain at Hedon is currently at 1.7 m and rising.  It is likely to rise to 2m by 3 or 4 am on Saturday morning 21/12/19. By mid morning on Saturday river levels should start to fall as the falling tide will enable Burstwick drain to discharge into the Humber. River levels may remain above normal into the weekend.  Areas most at risk are properties along Cloeberry Way.   Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast and river levels. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and see the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast. This message will be updated on Saturday morning 21/12/19, or as the situation changes.

This flood warning remains in force due to high levels in Westlands Drain at Hedon. Levels are now falling with the tide but will remain elevated on the high tides, however we are continuing to see a downward trend in peak levels on each high tide cycle. Operational teams remain in the area to pump water into Burstwick Drain and at Salt End if required. The latest levels can be found on the gov.uk website. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will update this message as the situation changes.

Levels will remain elevated on the high tides, but we are now starting to see a downward trend in peak levels on each high tide cycle. Levels are currently falling following the high tide this morning of Tuesday 3rd April but will remain high during today and may rise again this evening due to the influence of the next high tide. This warning remains in force due to high levels in the Westlands Drain at Hedon. Operational teams have been on site to pump water into Burstwick Drain and levels are now falling slowly. No further significant rainfall is expected during Tuesday. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will update this message as the situation changes. This flood warning has been issued in response to rising levels on the Westlands Drain at Hedon due to persistent rainfall over the last 12 hours. Levels are currently 1.67m but may reach 1.99m potentially causing flooding in Cloeberry Way. We have teams out in the area keeping the system clear.
