River Aire
Whilst washland levels remain high and flooding is still affecting some properties, levels in Snaith Ings continue to slowly fall and the risk of additional property flooding has reduced. The bank at East Cowick is not spilling. Further rain is forecast in the upper catchments today which, combined with high tides peaking on Wednesday, could result in washland levels beginning to rise again. We are continuing our pumping operations to create capacity ahead of this rain. Our staff are on site in daylight hours and our incident room remains open. Please check routes before you travel. This message will be updated by 21:30 on 10/03/20

Levels in the Lower Aire washlands remain exceptionally high, flooding continues to affect properties near the Ings in Snaith. Gowdall Lane and Selby road near the railway crossing remain flooded however Priory Lane is now clear. River levels upstream at Beal have continued to fall today (02/03/20) but remain high. Elevated levels on the River Aire continue to slow the draining of washlands, but we are pumping water from Snaith Ings to accelerate drainage of the reservoir. This will help to reduce overtopping of the bank into East Cowick. No significant rainfall is currently forecast for the next few days, and tides will be falling until Friday. This should allow levels to start dropping. We are working closely with our partners. Our field teams are monitoring the situation in daylight hours and our incident room remains open. River Aire
Lower Aire washlands are still extremely full, and flooding continues to affect properties near the Ings. Rainfall last night, 29/02/20, did not cause further water to enter the washlands from the Aire. However it is keeping river levels high, slowing washland draining. Flood risk remains when washlands are high.
Tides continue to fall until Thursday and are not expected significantly increase river levels. Scattered showers are forecast over the next few days, and we expect washlands to be able to begin to drain. Significant draining of washlands will only occur once river levels fall enough.
We are working closely with our partners to plan our response. Our field teams are monitoring the situation in daylight hours and our incident room is open.
