River Went
Levels on the River Went have responded to the recent rainfall. River Levels will remain high until mid-morning on Friday 15th November, when they will likely start to drop. Further scattered showers are expected into Friday morning. Due to the recent rainfall and the large amounts of water still in low lying areas of the catchment, this flood warning will remain in force. We continue to support the coordinated multi‐agency response and our incident room is open 24/7. Our incident response staff have deployed pumps, people and equipment so that we can reduce levels of water in the worst affected areas, and increase the capacity of our washlands for the coming days. This message will be updated by 11:20 on 15/11/2019 or as the situation changes.

River Went
River levels in the Lower Don have fallen through today. Rain is falling across the South Yorkshire catchment and is forecast to continue until approximately 22:00 this evening, Thursday 14/11/2019, this will be followed by showers overnight into tomorrow, Friday 15/11/2019. There is reduced floodplain capacity and given the wet ground conditions, we expect the River Don and its main inflows to rise later today and into 15 November although levels are not currently forecast to result in further overtopping of rivers banks and defences. The Leeds incident room remains open and we will be closely monitoring the situation and the need to maintain this flood warning. See GOV.UK for a 5 day flood forecast. Our staff have deployed pumps, people and equipment. This message will be updated by 03:30 on 15/11/19, or as the situation changes.
