Tuesday's early morning tide at 00:15 on 09/04/2024 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with Gale Force 8 South Westerly winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.67 m. The total forecast tide is 7.21 metres Chart Datum (3.94 mAOD) at Shoreham. For 2 hours either side of high water, flooding will affect Sussex Yacht Club, Riverside Business Centre and Surry Hard. Tidal water may flow to the A259 Brighton Road. Water will be high up slipways, and will affect the houseboats in the Harbour. Minor flood impacts could still be possible Tuesday afternoon. However, Tuesday's tide at 12:15 on 09/04/2024 is forecast to be 50cm lower (3.45 mAOD), so flood risk should be lower. We continue to monitor the forecasts. To help to protect property, we are closing our tidal defence gates at Oyster Quay and Lower Beach Road (Waterside Inn). If you have it, please install flood protection 2 hours before high tide. Including private flood gates at Emerald Quay. We will update this message by 18:00 on 09/04/2024.
