The River Uck is high and rising. 20mm of rain has been recorded at Buxted on Sunday. From 01:30 26/02/2024, flooding will affect fields, rural roads, gardens and riverside properties through Buxted, near the White Hart pub and areas around Hempstead Mill on Hempstead Lane, Uckfield. Rain could continue until 08:00 26/02/2024. Another 15mm of rain could fall. The river should begin to fall by 13:00 26/02/2024, but will be higher than normal until Tuesday afternoon. River levels could rise a little higher than they have so far this winter. Riverside properties in Buxted are encouraged to install flood protection products if you have them and take steps to reduce the impact of flooding. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. The River Uck is high and rising. In the last 48 hours, over half a month's rainfall (50mm) has been recorded at Buxted. Another 10mm of rain is forecast Wednesday evening. From 23:00 16/11/2022 flooding will affect fields, rural roads, gardens and riverside properties through Buxted, near the White Hart pub and areas around Hempstead Mill on Hempstead Lane, Uckfield. Rain is expected to clear by 04:00 Thursday 17/11/2022, leaving Thursday and Friday mostly dry. The river should begin to fall by 09:00 17/11/2022, but will be higher than normal until Thursday evening. River levels could end up similar to the peaks of last week. Thursday afternoon (03/11/2022) should remain largely dry, but flooding will continue to affect fields, rural roads and gardens throughout Thursday evening, including riverside properties near the White Hart pub in Buxted and around Hempstead Mill on Hempstead Lane, Uckfield. There is uncertainty in the forecast but there is a possibility of some heavy showers passing through Sussex on Thursday evening, which could cause river levels to rise again. Riverside properties in Buxted are encouraged to keep their flood protection products installed, if you have them. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. The River Uck is high and rising, following Thursday morning's heavy rain. Nearly half a month's rain has been recorded (40mm) at Buxted. From 09:00 on 03/11/2022 flooding will affect fields, rural roads, gardens and riverside properties through Buxted, near the White Hart pub and areas around Hempstead Mill on Hempstead Lane, Uckfield. A further 15mm of rain is expected Thursday morning, before a drier period is forecast around midday Thursday. The river should begin to fall by 15:00 Thursday 03/11/2022. Flood impacts should begin to slowly ease when river levels start to fall. However, further rain is possible through the early hours of Friday, so river levels might not return to normal until Friday afternoon 04/11/2022. Only isolated showers are expected during Tuesday morning, which should allow the river to begin to fall by 03:00 28/12/2021 and return to normal from 14:00 28/12/2021. From 13:00 Monday (09/08/2021) flooding will affect fields, rural roads, gardens and riverside properties through Buxted, near the White Hart pub and areas around Hempstead Mill on Hempstead Lane, Uckfield. Most of the rain has now cleared to the east, but more brief showers are possible Monday afternoon. The river might not begin to fall until 15:00 Monday (09/08/2021), and will remain higher than normal until Monday evening. River levels will likely end up below those experienced on the 1st August 2021. Riverside properties in Buxted and on Hempstead Lane are encouraged to install flood protection products if you have them and take steps to reduce the impact of flooding. The River Uck is high and rising. It is estimated that in only a few hours of Sunday afternoon, about a month's worth of rain (50mm) fell at the top of the Uck catchment. From 21:00 01/08/2021 flooding will affect fields, rural roads, gardens and riverside properties through Buxted, near the White Hart pub and areas around Hempstead Mill on Hempstead Lane, Uckfield. Light rain should clear the area by 23:00 and the river should begin to fall by 02:00 Monday 2/8/2021 in Buxted. Only small amounts of rain are forecast next week so the river should return to normal Monday afternoon. Please take proactive action to help reduce the impact of flooding.
