This message has been issued because there may be some issues with surface water flooding and difficult driving conditions over the next few hours today, Saturday 30th January. River levels are high in response to recent rainfall. Areas most at risk are Yeldham Road, Nunnery Street, the A1017 and the B1058 at Castle Hedingham, Station Road, Summerfields, Spring Way and Alderford Street in Sible Hedingham. We are not currently expecting the situation to escalate. The forecast is for some heavy rainfall this afternoon but no further significant rain is forecast overnight or tomorrow. Flood water is dangerous. Don't put yourself or others at risk. We are monitoring the situation, and will update this message by 9am tomorrow.

River levels are currently high due to recent rainfall. River levels are expected to remain high, and responsive to further rainfall. Areas most at risk are Yeldham Road, Nunnery Street, the A1017 and the B1058 at Castle Hedingham, Station Road, Summerfields, Spring Way and Alderford Street in Sible Hedingham. We are not currently expecting the situation to escalate and are monitoring river level response to overnight rain. The forecast is for continued unsettled weather over the next couple of days. Take care on riverside footpaths and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are closely monitoring the situation and will update this message as necessary.
