This message has been issued because some minor flooding to low lying land, roads and riverside areas is likely from now until tomorrow morning, Monday 26th July 2021. The River Stour is reacting quickly and rising sharply in response to the rainfall today. The weather forecast is for some further rain later this evening which may keep the river levels high. The weather forecast is improving, and we expect levels to start returning to normal soon. Take care on riverside footpaths and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. River levels are high in response to recent rainfall. We are not currently expecting the situation to escalate. This message has been issued because some minor flooding to low lying land, roads and riverside areas is likely through tonight, Thursday 14th January 2021 and into tomorrow. River levels are beginning to drop, and should continue to do so through tonight as the rain clears the area. The forecast is for more settled weather tomorrow which should allow levels to drop back down closer to normal levels for the time of year. More rain is however expected Saturday. The forecast is for persistent rain this morning and showers into the afternoon, more settled on Friday but with further rainfall on Saturday. Flood water is dangerous. River levels have risen due to the rainfall this morning. River levels are likely to continue to rise in response to the rainfall. It is possible that we may need to issue more warning messages for a wider area over the next few hours. The forecast is for further rainfall through this morning and into this afternoon before clearing by the evening. Tomorrow, Monday 16th November, is forecast to be mostly dry. This means that we are currently seeing higher river levels than normal in the Upper Stour, particularly around Kedington. The forecast is for no significant rainfall on Monday evening into Tuesday.
