Due to high spring tides that will be peaking tonight there is an increased risk of flooding in this area on todays high tide. This message contains gauge information for Newport and Avonmouth Gauges for the tidal peaks tonight. This message will be updated by 8 am on Tuesday the 14th of August or if the situation changes. At Newport; a tide level of between 7.2 and 7.4 metres is expected to occur at around 9:45 pm tonight. At Avonmouth; a tide level of between 14.2 and 14.5 metres is expected to occur at around 9:45 pm tonight. The period of high tides is expected to last until the evening of Tuesday the 14th of August.

As a result of spring tides this weekend there is a risk of some flooding occurring around the time of high tides on Sunday. This message contains gauge information for Newport and Avonmouth Gauge. This message will be updated by 4 pm on Sunday the 4th of March or if the situation changes. At Newport; a tide level of between 7.4 and 7.7 metres is expected to occur at 8:50 am on Sunday morning. A peak level of 7.37 metres occurred on Saturday mornings tide. At Avonmouth; a tide level of between 14.3 and 14.5 metres is expected to occur at 8:50 am on Sunday morning. The forecast high tide level at Newport Saturday morning is 7.5 mAOD, 1 metres above astronomical tide level. Tides may be 1.1 metres higher than predicted due to weather conditions.
