River levels are rising rapidly due to heavy rainfall, Wednesday 27th November. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Ching Brook. Areas most at risk include Empress Avenue; Waterhall Avenue; Studley Avenue; Haldan Road; West Walthamstow Forest. The risk of flooding is expected to reduce later today. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your surroundings. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions. Consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. We are monitoring rainfall and checking rivers for blockages. Ching Brook
River levels have risen on the Ching Brook in the London Borough of Waltham Forest as a result of persistent heavy rainfall caused by thunderstorms. Flooding of property and roads is possible from 6pm today for the rest of the evening. Flood water could be deep and fast flowing so remain vigilant and avoid these areas. We expect river levels to begin falling from later this evening, Wednesday 17th August. We are closely monitoring the situation.
