This Flood Alert has been issued as we expect heavy rainfall overnight to lead to flooding. Flooding to low lying land and roads is possible during the early morning tomorrow, Thursday 14 January, continuing throughout the morning. Flooding is likely in multiple areas along both the River Shuttle and River Cray, particularly in the Sidcup and Crayford areas respectively. There is currently uncertainty in where the heaviest rain will fall so some areas may only see raised river levels and no flooding. Further rain is expected during Thursday, leading to some continued flooding until the early afternoon. Please avoid contact with flood water and remain aware of your local conditions. We will be closely monitoring the situation and have staff prepared to respond if required. We will issue further messages if needed, whilst this message will be updated by 10am Thursday.
