High river levels are possible on the River Douglas, Pearl Brook, River Tawd, Eller Brook and their tributaries. The risk of flooding from Storm Christoph has now reduced. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are emptying the flood storage basin. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near rivers. High river levels are possible on the River Douglas, Pearl Brook, River Tawd, Eller Brook and their tributaries. Wigan Flood Basin is expected to operate on Tuesday 19th January. We expect river levels to remain high over the next couple of days and due to peak in the early hours of Wednesday 20th January. We are closely monitoring the situation.
