Hamble Estuary, Southampton Water
Tuesday's early morning tide at 00:30 on 09/04/2024 and 02:00 on 09/04/2024 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Southerly Force 6 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.82 m. The total forecast tide is 5.64 metres Chart Datum (2.90 mAOD) at Southampton. The forecast tide is very high and similar to 14 February 2014, when a small number of properties were flooded. For 1 hour either side of high water, flood depths of up to 0.2 metres will affect roads, car parks and property around the immediate waters edge of the Hamble Estuary. Property flooding is expected at The Quay and Rope Walk (Hamble) and Shore Road (Warsash). Boat Yards and Marinas at Bursledon and Swanwick will also experience flood impacts. After this tide the weather becomes more settled but minor impacts could continue until Thursday (11/04/2024). We continue to monitor the forecast. If you have it, please install flood protection 1 hour before high tide. We will remove this message by 16:00 on 09/04/2024.

Friday morning's tide at 11:54 on 18/02/2022 and 14:08 on 18/02/2022 is higher than normal due to Storm Eunice, which brings Severe Gale Force 9 South Westerly winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.84 m. The total forecast tide is 5.41 metres Chart Datum (2.67 mAOD) at Southampton. For 1 hour either side of high water, a small number of properties may experience flooding in Hamble around The Quay and Rope Walk (near the main slipway) and at Shore Road, Warsash. Shore Road Car Park, the boat yards and Marinas at Bursledon and Swanwick will also experience flood impacts. After this tide‚ no further impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast.
