Flood Warning issued on 16 Feb 2020 18:39
Water levels in the Bartley water remain very high but they are now falling. In the last 24 hours more than 41mm of rain has fallen in Testwood, which is more than half a month’s rainfall. Currently there is extensive out of bank flooding affecting land, fields and roads through Ashurst. Road flooding is expected at Totton and Rumbridge. At Woodlands, the river may still be affecting property. Rain has now cleared the area, but the river will remain very high over the next 12 hours. On Monday 17/02/2020, only small amounts of rain are forecast, but the river will remain responsive and so an increase in water level is expected tomorrow. We continue to monitor the forecast. If you have installed flood protection, please leave it in place over the next 12 hours. This message will be updated by 12:00 on 17 February 2020.
Flood Warning issued on 16 Feb 2020 10:59
At Ashurst and Woodlands, river levels are high and rising rapidly. Heavy and persistent rain has fallen over the last 18 hours with 31 mm recorded at Lyndhurst. This is a significant amount in a short period of time. In the next 1 to 2 hours, flooding is expected to impact Ashurst Bridge and property at Woodlands Road. Levels are also high at Eling and Totton and some out of bank flooding affecting roads may occur, although it is unlikely that properties will be affected in this location. Rainfall continues to affect the area until 15:00 this afternoon (Sunday 16/02/2020). At Ashurst, the river is unlikely to peak until much later this afternoon. We continue to monitor the forecast and ensure that the river can flow freely. At Ashurst and Woodlands, if you have it, please install flood protection. This Flood Warning will be updated at 12:00 on 17/02/20.
