Flood Alert

Flood Alert issued on 2 Feb 2026 11:58

Hermitage Steam, Lavant Stream

High river levels on Tuesday may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible on 03 February 2026 as more rain is forecast (up to 30mm). This is a similar amount of rain to Sunday (01/02/2026) and similar areas will be at risk. Flooding could affect roads at Riders Lane and Purbrook Way as rising water levels in the Hermitage Stream restricts the Riders Lane Stream from draining into it effectively. At New Road, the river may come close close to bankfull, with very deep, fast flowing water in the channel. River levels will remain low today, but will rise with an increased flood risk tomorrow. Rainfall and flood risk will continue until the early hours of Wednesday morning (04/02/2026). We are clearing blockages from debris screens in Havant. Consider activating any flood protection products you may have and report blockages to our hotline 0800 80 70 60. This message will be updated by 3:00PM on 04 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
