We are closely monitoring the situation . Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded , including Privett Road. This message will be updated by 6:00PM on 20 February 2026 or as the situation changes.

The water level in the River Alver at Browndown is high but stable. The river outfall on the beach at Stokes Bay is partially blocked with shingle due to recent high spring tides. The blocked outfall is preventing the river from draining and continues to flood across Privett Road. It is also affecting footpaths at Alver Country Park, especially near to Apple Dumpling Bridge. Our operations staff are planning to use excavators to remove shingle at low tide on Tuesday morning 13/02/2024. Once the outfall is cleared the river will lower and no further impacts are expected. We continue to monitor the forecast. In the meantime please plan driving routes to avoid Privett Road. This Flood Alert will be updated by 16:00 on Tuesday 13/02/2024.
