Lavant Stream
The water level in the Lavant Stream is rising rapidly. At Crossland Drive, the debris screen is currently blocked. This is as a result of heavy and intense rain, with 15mm in 12 hours recorded at Havant, which has washed large pieces of debris down the river. Our operational staff are travelling to the site to remove the blockage. From 10:00 this morning (Sunday 05/01/2025) it is possible that the river may come out of bank, affecting gardens of property located immediately either side of the river at Crossland Drive. We are not expecting impacts at Eastern Road or in Havant Town Centre. Although further rain is expected over the next 6 hours, once the blockage is removed, water levels will remain high but shouldn’t continue to be a risk to property. We continue to monitor the forecast and will ensure debris screens in Havant remain free of blockages. Please take appropriate action to protect your property, installing flood protection if you have it. This Flood Alert will be updated by 09:00 on 06/01/2025.
