This alert is being issued based on reports from the local area that the River Colne is out of banks and close to flooding properties in the West Drayton area. Throughout Wednesday night we have seen heavy rainfall across the area. This has caused the River Colne to rise. The main areas of concern are Uxbridge, West Drayton, Poyle and Stanwell Moor. There is likely to be flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river today on Thursday 28 January. Flooding from surface water, where water gathers and flows off road surfaces, could also occur. We expect the river to remain high today. Some further rainfall is forecast overnight tonight. Heavy rainfall over the weekend has caused the River Colne to rise, particularly in the Uxbridge and Cowley areas. We have also had reports of high levels in the West Drayton area. There is likely to be flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river today, Sunday 4 October. Flooding from surface water, where water gathers and flows off road surfaces, could also occur. Further rain is expected today so we expect the river to remain high for the rest of the day.
