Heavy rain this morning on Tuesday 20 June caused river levels on the tributaries of the River Lee to rise.
River levels have now dropped but due to the potential for thunderstorms to develop this afternoon and into this evening a risk of flooding remains in areas including Waltham Forest, Waltham Abbey, Waltham Cross, Barnet, Nazeing, Enfield, Chingford, Edmonton, Cheshunt and Tottenham.
Flooding from surface water, where water gathers and flows off road surfaces, could also occur.
The risk of thunderstorms remains until around 8pm before we move into a largely dry night.
No flooding to properties is currently expected.

Overnight we have seen heavy rainfall around the London area, which has caused river levels to rise.
Further rainfall is forecast throughout today, Saturday 29th Feruary. If the rain falls within the Waltham Forest, Waltham Abbey, Waltham Cross, Barnet, Nazeing, Enfield, Chingford, Edmonton, Cheshunt, and Tottenham areas flooding to low lying land will be possible today, but flooding to properties is not expected.
