WARNING. Flooding is expected in Corpach and Caol. Act now. A combination of high tides and prevailing weather conditions means that flooding from the sea is expected to affect low lying land, roads and properties in coastal areas of Corpach. Properties and roads behind the Caol and Lochyside Flood Protection Scheme should be protected from flooding from the sea. Properties and roads in the following areas are at risk of flooding in Corpach: Canal Cottages, Corpach Marina, the A830 Road to the Isles, Corpach Harbour and the West Highland railway line. The Fort William Water Treatment Works is also at risk. Flooding impacts are expected around the time of high tide at 19:45 on Sunday 20th October. An updated FLOOD WARNING has been issued for Corpach and Caol. Tides will be higher than usual due to a storm surge and will be combined with very strong South Westerly winds. The predicted tides are the highest forecast since 2005. The worst conditions are expected for a few hours around the time of the high tide Monday evening and Tuesday morning. If you are in an area that was known to be affected in the January 2005 event then you should be prepared for the potential for some impacts from flooding.
