Tuesday's early morning tide at 00:00 on 09/04/2024 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Southerly Force 6 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.57 m. The total forecast tide is 5.29 metres Chart Datum (2.70 mAOD) at Cowes. The tide could be the highest recorded. For 1 hour either side of high water, property flooding is expected at the bottom of Medina Road, near the floating bridge, Cowes High Street, Albany Road, Well Road, York Avenue, Castle Street, Ferry Road East Cowes and at Little London Quay, Newport. The Esplanade, Parade, Egypt Point and sea front parking areas will be flooded and impassable in places. After this tide the weather becomes more settled but minor impacts could continue until Thursday (11/04/2024). We continue to monitor the forecast. If you have it, please install flood protection 1 hour before high tide. Move cars from sea front car parks. We will remove this message by 16:00 on 09/04/2024.

Friday afternoon's tide at 12:06 on 18/02/2022 is higher than normal due to Storm Eunice which brings Severe Gale Force 9 South Westerly winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.84 m. The total forecast tide is 5.10 metres Chart Datum (2.51 mAOD) at Cowes. For 1 hour either side of high water, flooding could affect properties at Medina Road, the Arcade and in Cowes High Street near to the Red Jet terminal. Road flooding will affect the Esplanade and The Parade (Cowes). Road flooding will also affect Albany Road, York Avenue, Castle Street and Well Road (East Cowes). Footpath flooding is expected at The Quay, Newport. Tide levels remain elevated on Saturday 19/02/2022 at 12:30 although impacts are expected to be very minor. We may issue further advice tomorrow. Monday morning's tide at 11:37 on 10/02/2020 is higher than normal due to Storm Ciara, which brings strong South Westerly Force 7 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.58 m. The total forecast tide is 5.03 metres Chart Datum (2.44 mAOD) at Cowes. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide could come close to affecting a small number of properties at Medina Road, the Arcade, and Cowes High Street near to the Red Jet terminal. Road flooding is expected along the Esplanade, The Parade, Albany Road, York Avenue, Castle Street, Well Road East Cowes and at The Quay, Newport. At 00:09 on Tuesday 11/02/2020‚ tide levels are much lower, but very minor impact flooding may still occur. We'll issue further advice tomorrow. We continue to monitor the forecast.
