High river levels are expected to cause flooding on Wednesday. Flooding is expected on 18 February 2026 from 23:30 as a lot of rain (30mm) has fallen. Flooding will affect near Mill Farm, Blackwater Mill buildings, and property at Sandy Lane, Blackwater. Property on the riverbank at St George's Way may also flood. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce in by 12:00 on 19/02/2026. We are checking rivers for blockages . Activate any flood protection products you may have . River Medina
Rising river levels are expected to cause flooding on Tuesday. Flooding is expected on 03 February 2026, as 15mm of rain has fallen today (03/02/2026). River levels are expected to continue rising today (03/02/2026), as further rainfall (up to 5mm) is forecast. Flooding will affect near Mill Farm, Blackwater Mill buildings, and property at Sandy Lane, Blackwater. Property on the riverbank at St George's Way may also flood. Rain is expected to continue until 21:00 tonight (03/02/2026). Further rain is forecast on Thursday (05/02/2026) and Friday (06/02/2026). This will likely cause the river to respond again. The River Medina is higher than normal, but is now falling following Sunday's rain. Minor flood impacts will continue to affect fields, roads, and gardens at Blackwater, and near Sandy Lane. Only isolated showers are forecast Monday. The river should slowly fall a little further. However, another 20mm of rain is forecast Tuesday. From 09:00 03/02/2026 property flooding could again be possible. Potentially affecting Blackwater Mill buildings, property at Sandy Lane, Blackwater Hollow, Blackwater. Property on the riverbank at St George's Way may also flood. Flooding will also affect near Mill Farm, and fields, roads, and gardens. We are checking rivers for blockages. The water level in the River Medina at Blackwater and Newport is high and rising. In the last 12 hours, heavy and intense rain has fallen, with 34mm recorded at Carisbrooke. From 10:30 this morning (Sunday 05/01/2025) in Blackwater, near Mill Farm, the river could flood Blackwater Mill buildings and property at Sandy Lane. Property on the riverbank at St George's Way may also flood. Further rain is forecast over the next 6 hours, with up to 10mm possible. This will cause the river to remain high until later this evening (Sunday 05/01/2025). Our operational staff are out on site checking that the river is free of blockages. We will continue to monitor the forecast. If you have it, please install flood protection or take appropriate action to protect property. This Flood Warning will be updated by 21:00 on 05/01/2025.
