High river levels are expected to cause flooding on Tuesday. Flooding is expected on 03 February 2026 as up to 15mm of rain has fallen throughout the day. This is a modest amount of rainfall, but follows recent wet weather. River levels are expected to continue to rise, as a further 5mm of rain is forecast for the remainder of today (03/02/2026). Flooding may affect depot, tracks, and station buildings at St John's Station. Water on the tracks could be up to 0.5m deep. Rainfall is forecast to continue until 21:00 tonight (03/02/2026). Further rain is forecast on Thursday (05/02/2026) and Friday (06/02/2026). This will likely cause the river to respond again. We are closely monitoring the situation and keeping the Monktonmead Brook clear of blockages. Activate any flood protection products you may have. Move vehicles from low lying land next to the river. The water level in the Monktonmead Brook at St Johns Station has now returned near to normal following Sunday's heavy rainfall. Only isolated showers are forecast for Monday (02/02/2026), the river should fall a little further. On Tuesday (03/02/2026), another 30mm of rain is expected to affect Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. If this occurs on the Monktonmead Brook, from 09:00 03/02/2026, flooding could affect depot, tracks, and station buildings at St John's Station. Water on the tracks could be up to 0.5m deep. We are closely monitoring the situation and keeping the Monktonmead Brook clear of blockages. Activate any flood protection products you may have. Move vehicles from low lying land next to the river. High river levels are expected to cause flooding on Sunday.  Flooding is expected on 01 February 2026 from 20:30 as a lot of rain (33mm) fell on 01/02/2026.  Flooding will affect depot, tracks, and station buildings at St John's Station. Water on the tracks could be up to 0.5m deep. Rain is forecast to continue until 22:00 01/02/2026. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce by 02:00 02/02/2026.  We are closely monitoring the situation and keeping the Monktonmead Brook clear of blockages.  Activate any flood protection products you may have . Move vehicles from low lying land next to the river.  This message will be updated by 1:00PM on 02 February 2026 or as the situation changes.

The water level in the Monktonmead Brook continues to rise. 32mm of rain was recorded in just two hours at Ryde early this morning, which is over a month’s worth. This morning at St John's Station water could flow from the railway tracks into the main buildings at the station depot. It could also flood outbuildings and plant and vehicles near Park and Rink Road. Heavy showers may continue to affect the area today. With further rain water levels may not fall until at least midday (2/08/2021) with flood impacts continuing until then. Flood water across the railway tracks and in buildings could be very deep. Our operational staff are in the area working to keep the river clear of blockages. We continue to monitor the forecast. Please take action to protect property and consider moving vehicles away from low lying areas and depots next to the railway line. This Flood Warning will be updated by 18:00 on 2/08/2021.

The water level in the Monktonmead Brook continues to rise. 55mm was recorded in just four hours at Ryde this afternoon, this is over a month’s rain. This evening, at St John's Station, water could flow from the railway tracks into the main buildings at the station depot. It could also flood outbuildings and plant and vehicles near Park Road. Heavy rain may continue to affect the area over the next 5 hours with the possibility of a further 30mm tonight. With further rain, water levels may not fall until at least 06:00 (26/07/2021) with flood impacts continuing until then. Flood water across the railway tracks and in buildings could be very deep. Our operational staff are in the area working to keep the river clear of blockages. We continue to monitor the forecast. Please take action to protect property and consider moving vehicles away from low lying areas and depots next to the railway line. This Flood Warning will be updated at 10:00 on 26/07/2021.
