River levels remain high as a result of heavy rainfall this morning. Flooding is expected to continue this evening, Monday 9 August and into tomorrow Tuesday 10 August . We believe there is a possibility of flooding for low lying land and roads close to the river, particularly around Forest Row, Ashurst, Hartfield and Penshurst. Property flooding is not expected. Further heavy isolated rainfall is possible overnight tonight and into tomorrow but there is low confidence in the location. We expect river levels to remain high until Tuesday 10 August. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are actively monitoring the situation and are checking screens and river channels. River levels are rising as a result of heavy rainfall this morning. Flooding is expected from 10am this morning, Monday 9 August. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for low lying land and roads close to the river, particularly around Forest Row, Ashurst, Hartfield and Penshurst. Property flooding is not expected. The heavy rainfall is expected to clear later this morning, but further heavy isolated showers are possible through the rest of the day. We expect river levels to remain high until later this evening. We are closely monitoring the situation. River levels have crested at Summerford Bridge and are steady, it is expected that they will start to fall later today 30 Jan 2021. Levels at Colliers Land Bridge are cresting and expected to fall slowly overnight. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected to continue. The forecast is for largely dry weather until Tuesday 2 February. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris, and actively monitoring the situation. Flooding of low lying land and roads is occurring. The forecast is for light rain tonight 28 January 2021, followed by a dry spell until Saturday 30 January when a new frontal system is forecast to arrive. This may bring high rainfall totals to already saturated catchments. Members of the public are advised to avoid floodwater, and also to keep abreast of updates to the forecast, as the catchment will react readily to small amounts of rainfall. We are closely monitoring the situation and ensuring the free flow of water.

Following heavy overnight rainfall on wet catchments, river levels have risen sharply in the Upper River Medway. River levels are stabilising now in the upper reaches, but may continue to rise around Colliers Land Bridge for several hours. Property flooding is not expected, but it is anticipated that low lying land and roads may be inundated through the morning of 28 January 2021. We are monitoring the situation and have teams patrolling the catchment. The forecast for tonight is for further rainfall with unsettled weather set to continue for several days to come. Members of the public should avoid flood water and stay aware as further information may be forthcoming.

River levels remain very high but are now falling as a result of heavy rainfall on Sunday morning. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected to continue overnight into Monday morning, 28 December. Flooding of low lying land and roads is possible along the River Medway around Forest Row, Ashurst, Hartfield and Penshurst. River levels have now peaked at Penshurst at around 6pm on Sunday 27 December. Impacts are expected to be limited to low lying land and roads along rivers in the area. We expect river levels to remain high overnight into Monday 28 December. We are closely monitoring the situation. River levels are forecast to rise as a result of heavy rainfall expected tonight. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected anytime from 05:30 am tomorrow, 27/12/20 from local rivers. We believe there is a possibility of flooding of low lying land and roads along the River Medway around Forest Row, Ashurst, Hartfield and Penshurst. Impacts are expected to be limited to low lying land and roads along rivers in the area. However, if more rain falls than forecast, the outcome might be worse. We will monitor rainfall and provide updates early in the morning as required. Further rainfall is forecast later on Monday 28/12/20 and more details will follow later as necessary. River levels have risen as a result of heavy rainfall during Thursday 3 December. Flooding of roads and low lying land is a possibility at any location near the river around Forest Row, Ashurst and Penshurst, and is expected between 11:00 pm on Thursday 3 December and Friday evening. Peak levels will be similar to the flooding on 16 November 2020. The internal flooding of properties is not expected at this point. We expect river levels to drop slightly during Friday afternoon but may rise again over the weekend with more wet weather due on Saturday. We are closely monitoring the situation. River levels continue to rise in response to heavy rainfall this morning and showers during today, Thursday 13/02/2020. There is flooding of low-lying land and roads close to the river, particularly in rural locations around Hartfield and Penshurst. Property flooding is not expected. We currently expect river levels on the River Medway to peak this evening but flooding of low-lying ground is likely to remain until Friday morning, 14/02/2020. Further isolated showers are possible this evening but overnight into Friday should be relatively dry. Further rainfall is expected on Friday evening and we are expecting further impacts as a result of Storm Dennis over the weekend. Please avoid walking along low-lying farmland or footpaths near the watercourses. We are carefully monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond if required. The more intense rainfall has fallen on high ground so hasn’t affected the Upper Medway as much as anticipated. Flooding of low lying land and roads is still possible between Hartfield and Penshurst. Water levels are expected to peak later this evening and overnight into Tuesday 1 May. The heavy rain should ease and clear eastwards during Monday evening leaving a largely dry day on Tuesday. This Flood Alert is issued in anticipation of heavy rain forecast overnight on Sunday 29 April and into Monday 30 April. Water levels are likely to rise overnight in the Upper Medway catchment. Flooding of low lying land and roads is possible during Monday morning. River levels may continue to rise throughout Monday 30 April. Surface water flooding is also likely. Further rain is forecast throughout Monday and is not expected to clear until Tuesday 1 May. Flooding of property is not expected at this stage. We will continue to monitor river levels and update this message if the situation changes.

River levels in the Upper River Medway area will remain high throughout New Year’s Day, Monday 1 January, in response to rainfall seen yesterday. There is the potential for a further band of rainfall to pass over the area today which may cause river levels to rise once more, so please be careful in areas close to the river channel. River levels on the Upper Medway remain high and are rising again in response to heavy showers this afternoon, Sunday 31 December. Flooding of low lying land from Hartfield through to Penshurst is possible overnight into New Year's Day morning. Isolated showers are possible this evening but it is expected to be largely dry overnight. More significant heavy showers are possible during the day tomorrow, Monday 1 January. Please be careful in areas close to the river channel and be aware of your surroundings. We have staff monitoring river levels and will update this message tomorrow morning, 1 January 2018.

River levels on the Upper River Medway are rising quickly in response to heavy rainfall seen this morning, Friday 29 December 2017. River levels will remain high throughout this afternoon and with further rainfall forecasted for tonight river levels could remain high into Saturday 30 December. Flooding of low lying land and areas close to the river channel is expected, however property flooding is not expected at this time. Please remain safe in the areas of concern. We have duty staff constantly monitoring river levels and have staff ready to remove any blockages which may occur in the river channel. This message will be updated on the morning of Saturday 30 December or sooner if conditions change.

River levels in the Upper Medway have risen in response to the rainfall seen today, Wednesday 27 December, and will continue to remain high throughout this evening and into Thursdayday 28 December. We are continuing to monitor the situation, but with a dry day forecasted for Thursday 28 December, we anticipate river levels falling to a more normal level by Thursday afternoon. Friday 29 December and into the weekend may see further showers and we will monitor the situation closely and re-issue flood alerts if necessary. This message will be updated on the morning of Thursday 28 December.

The Upper Medway is high following a period of heavy rain overnight. Further rain is due from early morning on Wednesday therefore the river will remain high and fast flowing for the remainder of the day, with the peak in the Hartfield and Ashurst area, not expected until late afternoon. No internal flooding of property is expected and we do not expect to issue a Flood Warning.
