Further storms are forecast in Kent from 4am tomorrow 27/07/2021, but there is low confidence on the precise location given the unpredictable nature of thunderstorms. If further rainfall occurs over the Beult catchment, river levels are likely to increase further and flooding of low lying land and roads will be possible, particularly around Bethersden, Pluckley, Smarden and Headcorn. The forecast is for heavy, localised rainfall to continue this week. Our incident response staff are actively monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond if required. River levels have risen as a result of intense, localised rainfall during Sunday 25 July 2021. Very high river levels will occur from Bethersden to Staplehurst throughout Monday 26 July. Further storms are forecast in Kent from mid morning, but there is low confidence on the precise location given the unpredictable nature of thunderstorms. If further rainfall occurs over the Beult catchment, river levels are likely to increase further and flooding of low lying land and roads will be possible, particularly around Bethersden, Pluckley, Smarden and Headcorn. River levels have risen as a result of heavy rainfall overnight. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected from 2pm and to continue overnight into tomorrow, Monday 8 February, particularly around Pluckley, Smarden, Headcorn and Staplehurst. Levels on the Beult between Stilebridge and Yalding are not expected to be any higher than those seen since December 2020. The forecast is for snow and freezing temperatures to continue throughout Sunday and Monday. We do not expect flooding of property at this stage but are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris from rivers. The River Beult has reacted in response to heavy rain earlier today, Wednesday 3 February. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected between 5:30pm and tomorrow morning in the Smarden, Headcorn and Hunton areas. The flooding of property is not expected. The peak conditions will occur overnight. Any flooding in Yalding will probably be localised and of low impact. Levels along the Beult valley will be comparable to that observed last weekend. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are clearing trash screens and ensuring the flow of water where possible. Please do not drive through flood water, especially flooded roads in residential areas. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, Thursday 4 February, or as the situation changes.

Following the recent rainfall the River Beult has peaked at Smarden and the peak has now passed through the Stile Bridge area. The peak in the Hunton area will be during the afternoon and through the evening of Sunday 31 January. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected to continue through Sunday around Staplehurst, Hunton and Yalding. At this time, no property flooding is anticipated. The forecast is for relatively dry weather today Sunday 31 Jan 2021 and the same on Monday. Two systems are due to arrive on Tuesday and Wednesday, members of the public are encouraged to stay abreast of the forecast. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris. The peak in the Hunton area will be during the afternoon. The peak in Yalding was observed about 1 am last night. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected to continue through Sunday 31 January 2021, around Staplehurst, Hunton and Yalding. At this time, no property flooding is anticipated. The forecast is for relatively dry weather until, Tuesday 2 February 2021 when further wet spells are anticipated. We are closely monitoring the situation. River levels are rising now in the upper reaches, but will continue to rise through today, 28 January 2021. Property flooding is not expected but it is anticipated that low lying land, and roads may be inundated through the day of 28 January 2021. We are monitoring the situation and have teams patrolling the catchment. The forecast for tonight is for further rainfall, with unsettled weather set to continue for several days to come. We expect river levels to peak at Stilebridge at around 10am on Monday 28 December. We expect river levels to remain high very overnight and throughout the day on Monday 28 December. The River Beult remains relatively high following heavy rain earlier in the week. The level is showing early signs of dropping at Smarden, Headcorn and Yalding. The level around Stile Bridge and Hunton will peak during Saturday morning. Any further rainfall over the weekend will not pose an additional flood risk. The outlook for the week ahead is largely dry. This Flood Alert will remain in force during Saturday 5 December but will probably be removed on Sunday.

Peak levels will be similar to the flooding on 16 November 2020 and will not reach Yalding until Friday evening. The internal flooding of properties is not expected at this point. We currently expect river levels to stabilise overnight into Friday but may rise again over the weekend with more wet weather due on Saturday. We are closely monitoring the situation. Consequently, flooding of roads and low lying land is possible throughout today, 02/02/19, particularly in the Staplehurst area. Flooding of properties is not expected. The Flood Alert remains in force. River levels have now peaked between Smarden and Staplehurst but will continue to rise overnight between Stilebridge and Yalding. River levels will remain high on the Beult today, Saturday 31st March 2018, after heavy rainfall seen in the area yesterday. River levels have peaked in Smarden and will peak this evening at Stile Bridge, before falling throughout tonight and into tomorrow morning. Sunday 1st April 2018 will be a reasonably dry day allowing river levels to continue to fall, however heavy rainfall is forecast for Monday 2nd April 2018 which could cause river levels to rise once more. We will continue to monitor river levels and will update this message on Sunday morning, or sooner if conditions change.

Levels peaked in Smarden last night and are slowly rising at Stilebridge, they will continue to rise in Yalding through Saturday before falling away overnight Saturday 31st March into Sunday 1st April. No property flooding is anticipated. Occasional showers are forecast through the night and these have been taken into account in issuing this alert. Saturday is forecast to be much drier. Some showers are expected Sunday. We are monitoring the river and weather conditions for the week ahead. Monday is forecast to be as wet as Good Friday.
