Wyre Estuary
Storm Ashley bringing strong winds, large waves and spray overtopping on the coast is expected to cause flooding overnight. Highest tide level is expected at 2:15 AM on 21/10/2024. Flooding is possible several hours either side of this time. Areas most at risk include Wardleys Pool, Wardleys Lane, Wyresdale Caravan Park, Riverside Drive, The Conifers, Kiln Lane, Brook Vale and Brickhouse Lane. After the high tide overnight‚ the weather is more settled and no flooding is expected. We are closely monitoring the situation and checking flood defences. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. This message will be updated by 8:00 AM on 21/10/2024, or as the situation changes.
