Irish Sea

Storm Ashley bringing strong winds, large waves and spray overtopping on the coast throughout the morning may lead to flooding. Highest tide level is expected to be Formby Point, Hightown, Altcar, North End, Altcar, Meadows and Seaforth Nature Reserve at 2:08 AM on 21/10/2024. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of this time. After this tide has passed the weather is more settled and no flooding is expected. Be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. This message will be updated by 8:00 AM on 21/10/2024, or as the situation changes

Irish Sea

This Flood Alert has been issued due to the high tide and waves forecast at 01:00 PM on 18/02/2022, with impacts possible for two hours before and after this time. Storm Eunice is forecast to bring strong winds, large waves and spray overtopping on the coast. Our incident rooms are open and we are closely monitoring the situation. We will re-issue alerts/warnings if necessary and our incident response staff are closing flood gates and checking defences. Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. Plan driving routes to coastal roads, which may be flooded. We do not expect to see similar impacts for tomorrow's high tides, 19/02/2022. We are, however, expecting higher than normal tides at midday on Sunday, 20/02/2022, and as a result we may issue further alerts/warnings. This message will be updated by 03:00 PM on 18/02/2022, or as the situation changes.
