Highest tide level is expected to be Warton, Carnforth, Crag Bank, Bolton-le-Sands, Hest Bank, Bare, Torrisholme, Great Hestham and Heysham Harbour at 2:08 AM on 21/10/2024. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of this time. After this tide has passed the weather is more settled and no flooding is expected. High tides, strong winds and large waves overnight may lead to flooding. Highest tide level is expected to be at Warton, Carnforth, Crag Bank, Bolton-le-Sands, Hest Bank, Bare, Torrisholme, Great Hestham and Heysham Harbour at 2:15 AM on 23/08/2024. Flooding is possible 3 hours either side of this time. Waves are forecast to overtop coastal defences at Warton, Carnforth, Crag Bank, Bolton-le-Sands, Hest Bank, Bare, Torrisholme, Great Hestham and Heysham Harbour. Coastal conditions are expected to improve tomorrow afternoon and no flooding is expected. Be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. Strong winds and spring tides may cause large waves and spray overtopping on the coast between 11:00 and 13:00 today (Tuesday 09/04/2024). Areas most at risk include Warton, Carnforth, Crag Bank, Bolton-le-Sands, Hest Bank, Bare, Torrisholme, Great Hestham and Heysham Harbour. No property flooding is expected. Stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. This message will be updated by 17:00 on Tuesday 09/04/2024, or as the situation changes. Higher than normal tides are expected until Thursday 11/04/2024. Further alerts or warnings may be issued.

During industrial action this message has been automatically issued based on rising river or tidal levels.

This Flood Alert has been issued due to the high tide and waves forecast at 01:00 PM on 18/02/2022, with impacts possible for two hours before and after this time. Storm Eunice is forecast to bring strong winds, large waves and spray overtopping on the coast. Our incident rooms are open and we are closely monitoring the situation. We will re-issue alerts/warnings if necessary and our incident response staff are closing flood gates and checking defences. Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. Plan driving routes to coastal roads, which may be flooded. We do not expect to see similar impacts for tomorrow's high tides, 19/02/2022. We are, however, expecting higher than normal tides at midday on Sunday, 20/02/2022, and as a result we may issue further alerts/warnings. Highest tide level is expected to be at Warton, Carnforth, Crag Bank, Bolton-le-Sands, Hest Bank, Bare, Torrisholme, Great Hestham and Heysham Harbour at 12:01 AM on 07/11/2021. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of this time. We will continue to monitor levels closely.
