Flood Alert issued on 10 Aug 2018 10:44
Heavy rainfall during the early hours, had caused Hurlston/Sandy Brook in Ormskirk to rise quickly. Rainfall has since eased and Hurlston/Sandy Brook, like other smaller rivers in the area, have already dropped to normal levels. However, with the threat of further heavy showers through the day, river levels may rise quickly once again, along with the chance of surface water flooding in isolated areas. Environment Agency staff are monitoring the situation and are on the ground checking the rivers and removing any blockages.

Flood Alert issued on 10 Aug 2018 09:11
Following intermittent burst of very heavy rainfall, rivers have been rising rapidly. Further heavy showers are forecast and rapidly responding rivers such as hurlston/sandy may react fast as well as surface water.

Flood Alert issued on 5 Sep 2017 10:49
Heavy rain has fallen on the catchment since the early hours of this morning. Further rainfall is expected through the next few hours although it will start to break up into the afternoon before clearing eastwards by the evening. High river levels and some isolated areas of surface water flooding are likely. We are continuing to monitor the situation but do not expect the situation to escalate further.
