River levels have risen rapidly in the Upper Irwell Catchment as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property is expected between today, 09/02/20. We believe there is a possibility of flooding to land and properties along the river in Stubbylee Bridge and Stacksteads. We expect river levels to remain high throughout Sunday 9th February 2020. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring weather forecasts and river levels and will issue further flood warnings if necessary. Please be aware of your surroundings and keep up to date with the current situation. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.

The Flood Warning still remains in force, however the rivers are receding below the flood warning level and the worst of the rainfall has passed. Further Showers are expected in the early hours of the morning, though we do not expect the river levels to rise back up to Flood Warning. We will continue to monitor the situation throughout the night and into tomorrow.
