Over Thursday and Friday heavy rain fell in the Waithe Beck catchment. This caused the Waithe Beck to rise. River levels are now dropping steadily and no further rainfall is forecast over the weekend. High river levels have already caused flooding to low lying land and roads around Brigsley. Although river levels are dropping, we continue to remain concerned about potential flooding of properties in Brigsley on Saturday 9th November onwards. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated as the situation changes.

This is causing the Waithe Beck to rise and is forecast to continue to rise through the evening. The rising river levels have already caused flooding of low lying land and roads around Brigsley, and due to the deteriorating weather conditions we now expect properties in Brigsley to be affected from the early evening on Thursday 7th November onwards.
