On Monday, heavy rain fell in the Ancholme catchment which has caused the River Ancholme to rise. No further rain is forecast for the next few days, however, we expect water levels to remain high today, Tuesday 7th January. Stay safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by 12:00 on 08/01/25, or before if the situation changes
River Ancholme, Old River Ancholme
Heavy rain has fallen in the Ancholme catchment. This is causing the River Ancholme to rise and it is forecast to continue to rise through the day. Low lying areas near to the river are already flooded and we now expect properties in Brigg to be affected this afternoon onwards. Low lying properties near the river on Manley Gardens in Brigg are expected to be affected first. No further rainfall is forecast, however, river levels may remain high. Storm Henk has brought heavy rain in the Ancholme catchment, which has fallen onto already saturated ground. This caused the River Ancholme to rise. Low lying areas near to the river are flooded. This is causing the River Ancholme to rise, and is forecast to continue to rise through tonight and into tomorrow.
