Heavy rain has fallen over the South Forty Foot catchment. We are also entering a period of tide lock on the evening of Sunday 11th February. The South Forty Foot Drain is rising and will continue to peak overnight and into the early morning. Low lying isolated properties and villages in the west of the South Forty Foot Drain near the river on Bourne Drove in Bourne are expected to be affected first. No further rainfall is forecast so river levels will begin to fall, but may begin to rise again slightly for the morning tide on Monday 12th February between 09:00 and 13:00. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We anticipate the levels to stabilize and gradually reduce over the next couple of days. Stay safe, and be aware of your local surroundings.
