Storm Henk has brought heavy rain in the wider River Steeping catchment, which has fallen onto already saturated ground. This has caused the River Steeping to rise, and is forecast to remain high throughout today. Low lying areas near to the River Steeping are already flooded and we now expect properties to be affected. Properties on Tip Lane in Thorpe St Peter are expected to be affected first. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by 16:00 on 4th January, or before if the situation changes

Storm Henk has brought heavy rain in the wider River Steeping catchment, which has fallen onto already saturated ground. Rain will continue through the evening of Tuesday 2nd January. This is causing the River Steeping to rise, and is forecast to continue to rise through tonight and into tomorrow. We are issuing this Flood Warning proactively to allow people time to take action. Low lying areas near to the River Steeping are already flooded and we now expect properties to be affected at some point during the night. Properties on Tip Lane in Thorpe St Peter are expected to be affected first. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by 16:00 on 3rd January, or before if the situation changes.

River levels remain high following rainfall associated with Storm Babet, and further rainfall throughout Tuesday 24th October. Catchments are expected to react and river levels to remain high throughout the night and into Wednesday 25th October. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. We are monitoring river levels and have staff in the field checking for and clearing blockages in this location. This message will be updated as the situation changes.

River levels remain high following rainfall associated with Storm Babet. Further rainfall is forecast to begin overnight tonight and continue throughout tomorrow, Tuesday 24th October, with the heaviest rainfall forecast late morning. Catchments are expected to react and river levels rise throughout Tuesday and into Wednesday. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. The severe flood warning is no longer in force as river levels along the Steeping River and the Wainfleet relief channel have fallen below critical levels and there is no longer any risk of overtopping, however the flood warning remains in force. No significant further rainfall is currently forecast. River levels remain above normal and are likely to remain high over the next few days. Multi-agency meetings are continuing today, Monday 17th February and as required. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings, and avoid contact with flood water.   Do not walk on flood embankments and avoid riverside paths. Our staff are out in the area checking the flood defences and assisting the Emergency Services and Council.  We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated by Monday evening or as the situation changes.

River levels along the Steeping River and the Wainfleet relief channel have fallen below critical levels and there is no longer any risk of overtopping. No significant further rainfall is currently forecast. River levels remain above normal and are likely to remain high over the next few days. River Steeping, Wainfleet Relief Channel
Storm Dennis has resulted in significant rainfall in the Steeping River catchment with several bands of heavy rain passing through the area during today (Sunday 16 Feb). River levels along the Steeping River and the Wainfleet relief channel are expected to be similar to those in June 2019. This could result in flood embankments being overtopped. Should this happen, there is an increased risk that flood embankments could breach. It is expected that peak levels along the Steeping River in Wainfleet will be between midnight and 3am tonight. A multi-agency meeting is taking place this evening. Further messages will be issued should this be required. Do not walk on flood embankments and avoid riverside paths. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation throughout the night.

Heavy rain has been falling on the Steeping River catchment as a result of Storm Dennis. A second band of rain this afternoon has caused river levels to continue to rise. As a result we now expect properties in the Wainfleet area to be affected during late Sunday evening and into the early hours of Monday. Low lying properties near the river Steeping are most at risk. Further rainfall is possible throughout the night and over the coming days but not expected to be as significant as today. We expect river levels to remain high throughout the next few days. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings, and avoid contact with flood water. Do not walk on flood embankments and avoid riverside paths. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council.
