Flood Warning issued on 1 Oct 2019 05:13
River Witham, Witham Haven
Due to recent stormy conditions a tidal surge has been moving down the East Coast of England. The high tides combined with strong winds resulted in large waves and seepage through the sea defences is possible. The time and date of the forecast high water is 08:20hrs on Tuesday, 1st October 2019. Flooding to properties could occur through low level seepage however we are not expecting flooding through overtopping. Low lying roads are expected to flood at these times in combination with surface water. Flooding conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. Avoid quays, footpaths and roads adjacent to Witham Haven. Coastal conditions should ease by Wednesday afternoon, however we are continuing to monitor the situation and will update this message if the situation changes. Our staff are out in the area to close tidal gates, check defences and assist the Emergency Services and Council.
