Each Flood Warning may have multiple updates. The messages listed below may therefore be greater than the number of alerts detailed in the Flood Warning table above.
Flood Warning issued on 29 Sep 2019 21:33
This message has been issued because there is a possibility of some flooding of homes and businesses between 07:30am and 08:15am on Monday 30th September 2019. Areas most at risk are Coast Road in Salthouse and Coast Road in Cley. Flooding is also expected for Salthouse and Cley marshes. The detailed forecast for those that use it is for a peak level at Wells of 3.95mAODN at 07:45am, on Monday 30th September, which is 0.34m above tide tables, wind Force 5, WNW. (mAODN is height above average sea level. For more info refer to local tide tables). Take care on coastal roads and footpaths and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are closely monitoring the situation and not expecting the situation to escalate, or to issue anything else for the following tide.
Flood Warning issued on 1 Feb 2018 10:45
This message has been issued because of forecast local weather conditions during spring tides. Tides are expected to be higher than usual and may cause flooding in low lying coastal areas. High water is due at Wells Next-The-Sea at Thursday 1st February at 7:15pm. The detailed forecast for those that use it is for a peak level of 4.01mAODN, which is 0.81m above tide tables. The wind forecast is Force 6, WNW. (mAODN means height above average sea level, for more info refer to local tide tables). Areas most at risk are Coast Road in Salthouse and, Coast Road in Cley. Flooding is also expected for Salthouse and Cley marshes. The following risk tide on Friday 2nd February at 7:45am is currently forecast to be a Flood Alert. Flooding is possible between 2 hours either side of high water. Take care on coastal footpaths.
