River levels remain high following yesterday’s heavy rainfall. The heavy rainfall has cleared the area and river levels are dropping. We forecast that the alert will be removed by early afternoon of Thursday 23 November.

Lower River Lune
Heavy rain and strong winds are expected across parts of Lancashire on Wednesday evening before gradually easing overnight. The rain will clear eastwards during the early hours of Thursday morning. There remains some uncertainty with regards to the exact location of the heaviest rain. River levels have risen slightly throughout today and will rise again this evening as further rain falls. River levels are expected to peak later on Thursday morning. We will continue to monitor the situation.

River levels are rising following heavy rain overnight and this morning. Further rain is expected to continue until 16:00 hours this afternoon before clearing and river levels are expected to be high until this evening. Localised flooding of low-lying land and roads is possible. Environment Agency duty officers are monitoring rainfall, river and lake levels closely.

Heavy Showers will continue throughout the day and will cause the rivers to rise. We expect the rivers to peak mid morning and remain high for the rest of today. the Environment Agency will continue to monitor the forecast and the river levels in this area.
