Levels are not expected to rise much further or reach yesterday’s levels. We are not expecting large amounts of rainfall through today and expect to remove the flood warning later on. Areas of concern are Riverside properties situated on the left-hand bank at Low Laithe. Our incident rooms are open and we are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. The flood warning for the River Nidd at Low Laithe is now in force. The level of the river Nidd at Pateley Bridge is rising due to persistent rain through the night. Levels are forecast to reach 1.5m around 03:00 and will continue to rise until around 06:00 on Sunday morning 27/12/20, when the peak at Pateley Bridge is expected to be below 2m. The B6165 is expected to flood at this level. We are monitoring the situation closely and will update this message on Sunday morning or as the situation changes.
