Levels are not expected to rise much further or reach yesterday’s levels. We are not expecting large amounts of rainfall through today and expect to remove the flood warning later on. Areas at risk are locations near the River Nidd, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around Riverside properties situated along the Waterside, Abbey Road, Spital Croft and Monskwell Park including part of Manse Lane Industrial Estate. River levels are forecast to rise to 1.9m as a result of heavy rainfall from Storm Dennis. Consequently, flooding of property and roads is possible around 11:30am on Sunday 16/02/20. Areas most at risk are riverside properties and businesses of Knaresborough. We expect river levels to remain high until 5:00pm on Sunday 16/02/20. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers which may be flooded. No significant further rainfall is expected and river levels will continue to fall slowly throughout the night. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. Water levels at Knaresborough are currently 1.6m and forecast to reach 1.9m at 14:45 on Sunday 09/02/2020, peaking around 2.2m at 9pm on Sunday.
