The flood warning for the River Wharfe at Ulleskelf and Ryther remains in force. River levels continue to fall. The upper catchment is responding to recent rainfall and we will see levels rise again at Ulleskelf and Ryther later this evening 22/02/2022. These levels are not expected to be as high as those seen in recent days and flooding of properties is not currently expected. The weather is forecast to remain unsettled with showers and longer spells of rain over the next few days. We will continue to monitor the situation. We are monitoring river levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. Visit the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast and up to date river levels. The flood warning for the River Wharfe at Ulleskelf and Ryther remains in force. River levels have been dropping throughout the night at Tadcaster though remain high towards Cawood. Whilst showers are expected on Tuesday morning, these are not expected to significantly impact levels and we expect river levels to continue to fall. We are monitoring river levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. The flood warning for the River Wharfe at Ulleskelf and Ryther remains in force. River levels have been dropping through Monday evening, 21/02/22 and we are hoping to be able to remove this warning on Tuesday morning, although a flood alert will remain in force. We are monitoring river levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. This flood warning is now in force. Levels on the River Wharfe are rising due to intense rainfall upstream over the last 24 hours during Storm Eunice. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Wharfe around Ulleskelf and Ryther, with low lying land expected to be most affected. Current forecasts indicate river levels continuing to rise overnight with a peak of approximately 3.6m at Tadcaster. Further rainfall is expected overnight on Sunday 20/02/2022 and into tomorrow Monday 21/02/2022. We are monitoring river levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. This flood warning has been issued as river levels have risen as a result of heavy rainfall. Levels on the River Wharfe at Tadcaster are currently at 3.3m. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected. Areas most at risk are properties in Ulleskelf and Ryther. We expect to see levels peaking in the next few hours.
