There will be widespread heavy rain accompanied by high winds throughout Sunday 09/02/2020. Levels on Arkle Beck is currently around 1.15m and are falling. River levels are expected to remain high overnight and on Sunday. We are monitoring the situation closely. The Area Incident Room remains open, and operational staff are out clearing trash screens. There will be widespread heavy rain accompanied by high winds throughout Sunday 09/02/2020. The forecast peak level on Arkle Beck is currently around 2.5m at midday on Sunday. River levels are forecast to start responding in the early hours on Sunday morning, at Reeth. River levels are expected to remain high overnight and on Sunday. The forecast peak level on Arkle Beck is currently around 2.5m at midday on Sunday. River levels are forecast to start responding by 01:30 hours on Sunday morning, 09/02/2020 at Reeth. We are issuing the flood warning for Arkle Beck at Reeth and Low Fremington due to forecast heavy rain associated with Storm Ciara. Widespread heavy rain accompanied by high winds are forecast from Saturday evening, 08/02/2020 and overnight into Sunday. The forecast peak level on Arkle Beck is currently 2.16m. River levels are forecast to start responding by 0130 hours on Sunday morning, 09/02/2020 at Reeth. River levels are expected to remain high overnight and on Sunday. This flood warning remains in force as a precaution as changes to the river channel at Reeth, following the flash flooding in July, have altered how the river responds to rainfall. River levels are falling again and we expect levels to return to normal in the next few hours. Further rainfall is forecast during Sunday afternoon and we continue to monitor the river levels. Avoid contact with flood water and avoid low lying land and roads as there may still be standing water in these areas. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.

This flood warning has been issued as a precaution as changes to the river channel at Reeth, following the flash flooding in July, have altered how the river responds to rainfall. River levels are rising as a result of heavy rainfall overnight and on Sunday morning 06/10/2019. Areas most at risk are properties at Reeth and Low Fremington. Further rainfall is forecast during Sunday morning. The current level is 0.98m and is rising slowly. Levels are forecast to rise to between 1.0m and 1.1m during Sunday morning. 1.1m is the level at which we expect properties to start flooding. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please move possession and valuables off the ground or to safety and do not walk or drive through fast moving water. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.

The forecast is for the river level to rise rapidly over the next 30 mins to an hour, then fall below 1m for a short time, rising again late morning/early afternoon, We will update this message as soon as we get more details in the forecast for this afternoon. Due to an intense downpour on Tuesday evening, a flood warning is still in force for Arkle Beck at Reeth and Low Fremington. River levels at Reeth are falling but remain higher than normal. Flooding of low lying areas and roads is possible, please avoid these areas and do not put yourself at risk by driving through flood water. We currently expect levels to continue to fall slowly over Wednesday night into Thursday. We are monitoring the situation closely and will update this message again on Thursday morning.

Due to an intense downpour on Tuesday evening, a flood warning is still in force for Arkle Beck at Reeth and Low Fremington. River levels at Reeth are currently falling but remain higher than normal. Flooding of low lying areas and roads is possible, please avoid these areas and do not put yourself at risk by driving through flood water. We are not currently expecting to see significant rise in levels in Reeth on Wednesday 31st July 2019, as the rain is less intense than it was on Tuesday. We are monitoring the situation closely and will update this message again on Wednesday Evening. Due to an intense downpour a flood warning is now in force for Arkle Beck at Reeth and Low Fremington. After heavy localised rain, the river has now peaked at 2.25m stage, and is forecast to slowly fall through the night. Surface water is causing flooding and is affecting roads and access in the area. More rain is forecast from midnight, but is likely to be much less intense. We are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to update this message when more information becomes available, or on Wednesday morning before 0900 hours.
