This flood warning remains in force as a precaution as changes to the river channel at Reeth, following the flash flooding in July, have altered how the river responds to rainfall. River levels are falling again and we expect levels to return to normal in the next few hours.
Further rainfall is forecast during Sunday afternoon and we continue to monitor the river levels. Avoid contact with flood water and avoid low lying land and roads as there may still be standing water in these areas. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.

This flood warning has been issued as a precaution as changes to the river channel at Reeth, following the flash flooding in July, have altered how the river responds to rainfall. River levels are rising as a result of heavy rainfall overnight and on Sunday morning 06/10/2019. Areas most at risk are properties at Reeth and Low Fremington.
Further rainfall is forecast during Sunday morning. The current level is 0.98m and is rising slowly. Levels are forecast to rise to between 1.0m and 1.1m during Sunday morning. 1.1m is the level at which we expect properties to start flooding.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Please move possession and valuables off the ground or to safety and do not walk or drive through fast moving water. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.

River levels are forecast to rise. as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible between 8 am and 10 am today, Sunday 29/09/19, and rising again after midday staying high into the evening.. Areas most at risk are properties at Reeth and Low Fremington in particular Woodyard Cottage Farm. The forecast is for the river level to rise rapidly over the next 30 mins to an hour, then fall below 1m for a short time, rising again late morning/early afternoon, We will update this message as soon as we get more details in the forecast for this afternoon.

Due to an intense downpour on Tuesday evening, a flood warning is still in force for Arkle Beck at Reeth and Low Fremington. River levels at Reeth are falling but remain higher than normal. Flooding of low lying areas and roads is possible, please avoid these areas and do not put yourself at risk by driving through flood water. We currently expect levels to continue to fall slowly over Wednesday night into Thursday. We are monitoring the situation closely and will update this message again on Thursday morning.

Due to an intense downpour on Tuesday evening, a flood warning is still in force for Arkle Beck at Reeth and Low Fremington. River levels at Reeth are currently falling but remain higher than normal. Flooding of low lying areas and roads is possible, please avoid these areas and do not put yourself at risk by driving through flood water. We are not currently expecting to see significant rise in levels in Reeth on Wednesday 31st July 2019, as the rain is less intense than it was on Tuesday. Due to an intense downpour a flood warning is now in force for Arkle Beck at Reeth and Low Fremington. After heavy localised rain, the river has now peaked at 2.25m stage, and is forecast to slowly fall through the night. Surface water is causing flooding and is affecting roads and access in the area. More rain is forecast from midnight, but is likely to be much less intense. We are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to update this message when more information becomes available, or on Wednesday morning before 0900 hours.
