The particular area of risk is Lealholm where the current river level is 2.3m. A further rise is expected in response to on-going rainfall, with a peak early Friday afternoon, 12/06/2020. River levels are forecast to rise as a result of heavy rainfall over Saturday night. We expect river levels to flood property at around 5am Sunday morning 16/02/2020. The area most at risk is Poets Cottage. Further rainfall is forecast throughout Sunday which will keep river levels high. Our Incident Room is open and we are closely monitoring the situation. The high river levels are due to persistent rain through Saturday and overnight into Sunday morning. We are monitoring the situation and will update this message as the situation changes.
