Flooding is possible in locations near the River Foss, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around River Foss and its tributaries. River levels in the area around Huntington and City of York are expected to rise slowly on Sunday evening but are expected to peak below levels of significant concern. We do not expect to need to issue flood warnings at this time, but will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert if necessary. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
