River levels are forecast to rise on the Holbeck catchment in the early morning of Monday 17/06/2024 due to forecast heavy rainfall overnight. Areas most at risk are locations near Hovingham Beck, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly land around Holbeck and it's tributaries including Thorpe Beck, Marrs Beck, and including properties to the west of Station Road at Gilling East. Levels are currently low and if they do rise to levels where localised flooding occurs it is expected to be a short duration and should be falling again by mid-morning tomorrow, Monday 17/06/2024. Avoid using low lying land and footpaths near local watercourses, including around Hovingham, and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Further showers are expected over the next few days. This message will be updated by 8:00am on Monday 17/06/2024, or as the situation changes.

The flood alert for Holbeck Catchment has been issued as river levels are rising following persistent rain which is expected to continue throughout this evening, Thursday 7/12/2023 and overnight into Friday. Further rainfall is forecast over the weekend. Avoid using low lying land and footpaths near local watercourses, including around Hovingham. We continue to monitor levels closely. Consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 9:00am on 08/12/2023, or as the situation changes.

River levels are rising steadily on the Hovingham Beck as a result of rainfall caused by Storm Debi. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near Hovingham Beck, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly land around Holbeck and it's tributaries including Thorpe Beck, Marrs Beck, and including properties to the west of Station Road at Gilling East. Further rainfall is forecast intermittently throughout the day. We will continue to monitor the forecast. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
