River levels are continuing to fall on the River Aire at Gargrave. No further significant rainfall is forecast in the next 24 hours and we expect to be able to remove this warning later today (21/2/2022).
Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast on a 24 hour basis. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.

River levels have peaked but remain high as a result of persistent (heavy) rainfall. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. Areas most at risk are upstream of Gargrave Bridge and the centre of Gargrave along the main road. The industrial site will also be affected, as well as the farmland and properties near to Mill Lane

River levels are rising as a result of persistent (heavy) rainfall. This rain is forecast to continue through much of today, Sunday 20th February.
Levels at Gargrave are forecast to continue to rise until about 10am this morning. A second peak is forecast for later this afternoon. Area of concerns includes Mill lane and Airebank Terrace. We are monitoring the situation closely.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. Consider taking appropriate steps to prepare for possible flooding, such as moving things upstairs and getting flood protection equipment ready to put in place.

Rainfall is forecast to continue throughout the night and as such we expect river levels to remain high into Saturday, 22/02/20. River levels are expected to peak soon after midnight. Further showers are currently forecast through the early hours of Saturday morning.

A further heavy band of rain is causing the river to continue to rise and we may already be seeing flood impacts in the area. Property flooding is possible over the next hour today, 09/02/20. Areas most at risk are upstream of Gargrave Bridge, the centre of Gargrave along the main road, the industrail site and farm land and properties near to Mill Lane.
We expect river levels to continue to rise until the early afternoon today, when the rain is forecast to ease into a pattern of showers.
