As the lower Aire washlands remain high, we are supporting the internal drainage board with their pumping operations to reduce the risk of property flooding on Haddlesey Road. Further rainfall is expected throughout today, 21/02/2020, so river levels may rise further. Over the weekend, we expect river levels to remain high throughout the catchment. Levels on the River Aire continue to fall. As the lower Aire washlands remain high, we are supporting the internal drainage board with their pumping operations to reduce the risk of property flooding on Haddlesey Road. Scattered showers are expected throughout the night with heavier rainfall expected from around midday, 21/02/20, so river and washland levels may rise further. We expect to see levels throughout the catchment remain elevated into Monday. We continue to monitor the situation from our incident room. Levels on the River Aire continue to fall. As the lower Aire washlands remain high, we are supporting the internal drainage board with their pumping operations to reduce the risk of property flooding on Haddlesey Road. Scattered showers are expected throughout the rest of the day today, 20/02/20, however we do not expect a significant river level response. There is potential for further bands of rain from around midday tomorrow, 21/02/20, which may increase the risk in this area. We expect to see levels throughout the catchment remain elevated above average levels into Monday. We continue to monitor the situation from our incident room. Although levels on the River Aire are gradually falling, the levels in the lower Aire washlands will remain high over today and tomorrow (Wednesday 19/02/20 and Thursday 20/02/20). We are supporting the Internal Drainage Board with their pumping operations in this location to help to reduce the levels. Further unsettled weather is forecast from Wednesday evening into Thursday and we will be monitoring the situation closely from our Incident Room.
