River Aire
River levels upstream at Beal continue to fall today, 02/03/20, however elevated levels will continue to slow the draining of washland areas near to Kellington. The risk of further flooding is reducing, however this warning remains in force as washland levels remain high.
No significant rainfall is currently forecast for the next few days, therefore we expect levels to continue to drop slowly. However, significant draining of washlands will only occur once river levels drop enough to allow them to drain.
We continue to monitor the situation closely and our incident room remains open. Please check routes before you travel, and stay away from riverbanks. We will update this message by 19:40 on 02/03/20, or if the situation changes.

River Aire
River levels at Beal rose slightly due to last night’s rain, 29/02/20, but did not cause further water to enter washlands. River levels are now beginning to slowly fall. Washland levels at Roall Ings are also beginning to slowly fall, but remain high, so flood risk to properties remains. Scattered showers are forecast for the next few days, and we do not expect this to cause more water to enter the washlands from the river. High tides are falling until Thursday. Whilst they will not significantly add to river levels, they will continue to slow the draining of the River Aire, and we expect river and washland levels to remain elevated into next week. Significant draining of washlands will only occur once river levels drop enough to allow them to drain.
Please remain vigilant and put your flood plan into action. We are closely monitoring the situation from our incident room. This message will be updated by 19:39, 01/03/20, or if the situation changes.
