An updated FLOOD ALERT has been issued for Ayrshire and Arran. This alert is for coastal, surface water and river flooding. Due to a combination of strong wind, large waves and surge there is a risk of flooding from waves and spray overtopping. Areas most likely to experience flooding impacts are those areas exposed to the south west. The greatest risk is around times of high water which is at 1400 on Thursday at Millport/Ayr. Heavy and persistent rainfall is expected. This will lead to a risk of flooding from surface water and small watercourses continuing through Thursday.
