River levels have fallen since the heavy rain from Monday night into Tuesday. Today, Wednesday 28 January 2026, the weather has brought much less rain and this drier weather is forecast to carry on for much of tomorrow, Thursday, interspersed with showers. There is a further band of heavy rain forecast tomorrow evening, which will cause the rivers to rise again, though they are not forecast to get as high as they did on Tuesday. We are very aware that significant flooding occurred in various communities through the Cam valley, and properties were badly affected. Therefore we are keeping this Warning in force to reflect the conditions that people have experienced and keep you updated. We will keep reviewing this Warning in the coming days as necessary to reflect the weather conditions and any forecast rise in the rivers. We are closely monitoring the situation, and our staff continue to check rivers for blockages. Please stay safe and vigilant, and look out for updates to this Warning. River levels are dropping but remain high and flooding is possible overnight Tuesday 27 January. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Cam, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected. Areas most at risk include the Sparkford to Weston Bampfylde road at Mill Farm and properties at Queen Camel, West Camel, Bridgehampton and Urgashay. We are expecting less rain for the remainder of Tuesday and into Wednesday however blustery showers are forecast which may be heavy at times. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Cam, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around the Sparkford to Weston Bampfylde road at Mill Farm and properties at Queen Camel, West Camel, Bridgehampton and Urgashay. Further rainfall is forecast this evening, but this is expected to clear the area by midnight. River levels are forecast to remain high tonight but will begin falling after the rain moves away. We will continue to monitor levels closely. Consider activating any property flood protection products you may have, and start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Scattered showers are forecast overnight and through Friday 03/11/2023. River levels shall remain high at the Weston Bampfylde gauge. Our incident rooms are open and we are closely monitoring the situation. Consider activating any property flood protection products. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Further rainfall is forecast this afternoon. River levels shall remain high at the Weston Bampfylde gauge. Our incident rooms are open and we are closely monitoring the situation. We are aware that some river level telemetry data are not appearing or being updated on the gov.uk website. We are sorry about this and are working hard to resolve this as soon as possible.
