River levels have risen rapidly at the Chiselborough gauge as a result of heavy rain yesterday, 17/05/21. Areas most at risk are the River Parrett downstream of Gawbridge, the A356 at Chiselborough, the Norton Sub Hamdon to Stratton road and Parrett Works near Martock. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers which may be flooded and refer to local authority website for local road closures. Please stay aware in case further warnings are issued. We are closely monitoring the situation. This message will be updated later today, 18/05/21, or as the situation changes.

River Parrett
River levels remain high but are beginning to fall at the Chiselborough river gauge as a result of Storm Christoph. Consequently, the risk of flooding is reducing. We believe there is still a possibility of flooding for the River Parrett downstream of Gawbridge, the A356 at Chiselborough, the Norton Sub Hamdon to Stratton road and Parrett Works near Martock. However river levels are falling, and only showery rain is forecast over the next 24 hours. We continue to monitor the situation, and our incident response staff continue to clear debris from weed screens. Please plan your routes to avoid low lying roads and paths near rivers which may be flooded and refer to local authority website for local road closures. We are likely to be able to remove this flood warning later today, 21/01/21, but will update the message either way.

River Parrett
River levels have risen at the Chiselborough river gauge as a result of the rain accompanying Storm Christoph. Consequently, we believe there is a possibility of flooding of riverside properties and roads for the River Parrett downstream of Gawbridge, the A356 at Chiselborough, the Norton Sub Hamdon to Stratton road and Parrett Works near Martock. We expect river levels to peak over the next hour. However with further rain forecast river levels may rise again later this evening, 20/01/21. Our incident response staff have checked and cleared weed screens. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please consider installing property flood resilience equipment and plan routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers which may be flooded. Refer to local authority website for local road closures. River Parrett
The river level in the River Parrett at Chiselborough peaked at around 07:00 this morning and has started to fall. However the river remains high and above this flood warning threshold and property flooding remains a risk. Areas most at risk are the River Parrett downstream of Gawbridge, the A356 at Chiselborough, the Norton Sub Hamdon to Stratton road and Parrett Works near Martock. Further isolated showers are forecast during Saturday and Sunday but as rainfall totals will be less than Friday, the River Parrett will continue to fall and the risk of flooding will reduce. We will continue to monitor the situation and gangs are out checking defences and clearing weed screens. This message will be updated by 11:00 on Sunday 20/12/2020, or as the situation changes.

River Parrett
River levels in the River Parrett have risen at the Chiselborough river gauge as a result of the persistent rainfall during Friday. Consequently, the flooding of property is imminent. Areas most at risk are the River Parrett downstream of Gawbridge, the A356 at Chiselborough, the Norton Sub Hamdon to Stratton road and Parrett Works near Martock. The River Parrett is expected to continue to rise over the next few hours before the rainfall moves out of the area and slightly drier weather is forecast for Saturday and Sunday. However, further heavy rainfall is forecast to return on Monday. We will continue to monitor the situation and gangs are out checking defences and clearing weed screens. This message will be updated by 11:00 on Saturday 19/12/2020, or as the situation changes.

River levels have risen at the Chiselborough river gauge as a result of the ground being saturated and reacting to further rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads, farmland and properties is possible this evening, 14/11/20. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for the River Parrett downstream of Gawbridge, the A356 at Chiselborough, the Norton Sub Hamdon to Stratton road and Parrett Works near Martock. Further showery rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until tomorrow 15/11/20. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are closing flood gates. Please refer to local authority website for local road closures, owners with property flood resilience install it now and stay aware in case further warnings are issued.
